Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer orders and requests for transportation services - Coordinate with drivers and carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries - Enter and maintain accurate data in transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, AS400, and SyteLine - Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays - Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, updates, and changes - Utilize phone systems to communicate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams - Collaborate with shipping and receiving departments to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments - Assist with fleet management tasks such as vehicle maintenance scheduling and tracking
Experience:
- Previous experience in transportation management or dispatching is preferred - Proficiency in data entry and working with transportation management systems - Familiarity with phone systems used for communication in a dispatching environment - Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and procedures - Experience working with 3PL (third-party logistics) providers is a plus This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be organized, reliable, and able to problem-solve effectively.
